And finally, here we are, the final stop of the Awards Season for the January cycle, the Screen Actors Guild Awards. After a night's award affair with the judges from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association in Golden Globes and another night with the critics at Critics Choice Awards, it's the turn of the Guilds. Various Guild-based awards take place in this time span aside from SAG including the Directors' Guild Awards, Producers' Guild Awards, and more.

The SAG Awards may have lesser category counts than the two awards before them, but some said the significance is strong for the movie nominees as it might reflect to the upcoming Academy Awards (the Oscars) this March. Movies The Shape of Water and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri have been already touted as the favorites for the Best Picture race, after making the most out of Golden Globes and Critics' Choice, and only the fandom god knows whether their rivalry in the Oscars remind me of the Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack's final scene where Amuro fights Char in the Axis colony. Predictions, as usualCollapse )

The SAG Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, January 21, beginning at 8pm ET and will be televised live on both TNT and TBS with Kristen Bell hosting the awards, its first ever in its 24-year history. On the other note, the first release of the rankings, along with the first assessment for the ranking itself, will be live in the recap post!
